some other background:
- started writing code in Basic on Commodore 128 when I was 11 years old
- BS in Computer Science, learned about the Web as it first started being introduced to colleges and universities
- early days of internet use through 28.8 dial-up/AOL and local ISPs
- built my own 486dx machine from scratch running DOS and Win 3.1
- worked for my college building out their first web site in the mid-1990s
- started working as a web developer after college in late 90s
